Foreign hands
This piece is based on a Dutch song written by John Ewbank.
I listened with my ears closed tight, and somehow everything just felt right.
You whispered words that sounded soft but they were never mine.
They were ment for her every single time.
No hesitation, no regret,
just distance on your skin.
I was right there in your arms
but you let someone else in.
I don’t have the nerve to ask
if she’s still in your head
Because I’d rather live this lie
than hear the truth instead.
I don’t recognize you,
not anymore.
but I still reach for you,
forever wanting more .
And I hate that I need you
more than the truth.
I’m losing myself
just to keep you.
That I ended up inside this lie didn’t just confuse me —
it left me torn inside.
Because your body has been touched by hands not mine, and other lips have traced your mouth in time.
The artwork is made by me.
Thanks for reading. 🖤

What a painfully beautiful read and the artwork accentuated it so wonderfully!
