The strongest work here is not found in its darkness, but in its control. The portrait and the prose move in conversation, each allowing the other to breathe. When the language trusts its own restraint, it becomes all the more haunting. A beautifully cohesive pairing.

I love that beneath all the darkness, the poem is really speaking about endurance.

About someone who walked through the abyss and somehow remained recognisably human on the other side.🫶
